Our Vegetables

Long cucumbers are picked from early February until late June, while short-fruit are picked in July-October.

Tomatoes are picked in the April-November period.

Pagirių Šiltnamiai grows tomatoes and cucumbers of Dutch varieties, testing new types every year.

This season, the company is growing long cucumbers Carambole and Mystica, short-fruit cucumbers Excelsior, Mirabela, Pasalimo and tomatoes Cunero, Bogota and Tricia. Small amounts of Growdena, Macarena, Elanto and Fleksion tomatoes are also tested this year.

Cucumbers are autogamous plants, while tomatoes pollination requires bumblebees purchased from a Belgian company Biobest, which has 20 years of experience in the field. The bumblebees fly in Pagiriai greenhouses from the start of blossom until September.

The vegetables are grown in mineral wool and are watered with a balanced solution of mineral fertilizers.
